How to book roof cleaning and what to expect

Start with a call, share the property details you know, and talk through the access, roof condition, and scheduling questions that shape the work.

Booking and what to expect

How do I book a roof-cleaning estimate?

Every project starts with a call. Tell us where you are, what you’d like us to take care of. We'll then walk through scheduling and whether there are any special needs or considerations. We can often provide estimates directly over the phone, though larger or more complex project might need an on-site assessment.

What should I have ready before calling?

You don't need to know everything up front and we'll help you with details. We find calls are easier when you're able to touch on roof material, number of stories, approximate square footage and any potential access considerations. If you don't know a specific detail, that's ok. We've had success in assessing sites remotely via Google Earth. It helps if we know in advance if we ought to consider algea, moss, debris or if you have HOA or insurance considerations to attend to.

What happens after the first call?

After we have a feel for the scope of work we'll discuss next steps and scheduling. Exact steps vary by the project but in generally we'll settle on a schedule, coordinate on details such as proeprty access and if needed schedule a site assessment prior to performing the full project.

Roof material

What materials has the crew worked with?

We've worked with terra-cotta tile, slate, composition, metal, aluminum and more. We take special care to ensure that the right approach is applied for a given project.

Can cleaning damage tile or slate?

Some roofs require a careful approach. We take precations to avoid unneeded foot traffic, excessive pressure and the use of needlessly harsh chemicals.

Access and drainage

What happens on a steep roof?

Past projects include lift-assisted work on steep and near-vertical sections. Height, access, and the surrounding property shape the setup.

How are runoff and drains handled?

It depends on the project. Sometimes we'll bring in a lift. In some cases we'll employ fall protection. Height, slope, property layout and access all go into how we approach a project. Regardless of the situation, rest assured that we're thoughtful about how we approach your roof and its surrounding environment along with how we approach safety.

Is gutter cleaning part of roof cleaning?

If you're booking a roof job, it makes a lot of sense for gutters to be done as part of the project as roof debris can clog gutters and much of the set up overlaps.

Repair and coverage

Cleaning or repair?

Cleaning is sensible for addressing staining, organic growth such as algae, and removing debris. In cases where there are a handful of broken or missing tiles, repair jobs make sense.

Can damaged tile be matched?

We've handled many projects where we done repairs and replacements. We're usually able to get fairly close to existing tiles and we'll communicate proactively in the event that a match is questionable.
